VIDEO CONVERSION

CONVERTING VIDEO INTO THE CORRECT FORMAT

In this Chapter, we will discuss Video conversion. When you upload video files to the Signage Studio, you must upload video formats we support. These formats include FLV, MP4, M4V, MOV, and 3GP. These formats need to include either H.264 or MPEG4 encoding. To get the best performance and speed, we do recommend using FLV file with H.264 encoding.

If you have video files that we don't support, such as AVI or Window media format, you can use a free utility called Freemake (available at www.freemake.com), to convert your files into the supported format.

In this Chapter, we will show you how to use the Freemake utility to convert a video file from an unsupported format into a supported format, and how to upload it into the Signage Studio.

First you need to visit www.freemake.com and download the software in your machine.

After you've installed the application, to add a video for conversion, simply open it and click on the + button.

Select a file from you computer and then click on the FLV icon at the bottom to customize your output.

You have different parameters, but we are going to set it Same as source.

Next, click on the Setting's option.

Change the code to H.264, click OK, and then convert.

Open the Signage Studio and import the Video by going to the Resources area and clicking on the + sign.

Then, you can add your FLV video file into the Timeline and it will work perfectly.

We demonstrated that converting video files using Freemake is a very simple process.
